About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced 1:1 SEN Tutor to support students with Special Educational Needs in the Northampton area. This role involves delivering personalised, structured tuition sessions designed to meet each learner’s individual needs, helping them build confidence and achieve academic progress. Sessions may take place in the students’ home, a school setting, or a community venue.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver tailored 1:1 lessons based on the student’s EHCP and individual learning needs
* Adapt teaching strategies to support a range of SEN, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties
* Build a positive and supportive learning environment
* Monitor and record student progress
* Liaise with parents, carers, and relevant professionals where required
Requirements
* Experience working with children or young people with SEN
* Relevant teaching qualification or strong subject background
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
* Excellent communication and behaviour management skills
* Ability to plan engaging and differentiated lessons
Desirable
* QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
* Experience working with EHCPs
* Background in supporting students with SEMH needs
