Robert Half is working with a FTSE 250 business to recruit a Technical Accounting and Governance Manager to join the Rosyth team. This is a great role for someone who comes from a public accounting background and is looking for a unique blend of technical accounting responsibilities, business partnering, governance, and to take on a role similar to that of an Assistant Financial Controller. For the right candidate this role offers:
£60,000 - £65,000 + Hybrid working (2 days a week in the office) + excellent progression opportunities
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead the development and maintenance of technical accounting judgements and supporting documentation within the business unit finance function.
2. Shape accounting positions related to new contract opportunities.
3. Collaborate with the broader finance team to support the business unit through audit requirements.
4. Engage in business partnering with stakeholders across the organisation.
5. Contribute to the overall strategy, direction, and delivery of financial support.
6. Identify governance and control weaknesses, implementing improvement actions.
7. Undertake special projects as requested by the business unit CFO.
8. Oversee both external and internal audit processes and procedures.
Requirements:
9. Fully qualified accountant with experience working for an audit firm that deals with large blue-chip clients.
10. Demonstrated knowledge and experience of IFRS 15.
11. Excellent influencing, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
12. Proven ability to engage with C-suite stakeholders.
13. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
14. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
15. A proactive approach to identifying and implementing improvements.
16. Previous experience in overseeing audit processes and procedures is preferred.
