The Role

We are seeking a thoughtful and engaging Teacher of Religious Education to join a supportive Humanities faculty within a well-established 11–19 secondary school in Northumberland. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality RE lessons across KS3 and KS4, encouraging respectful discussion, critical thinking and ethical understanding.

This is an excellent opportunity for both experienced teachers and ECTs looking to make a meaningful impact in a values-driven school environment.

Northumberland | 11–19 Secondary School
£163 – £265.52 per day | MPS/UPS Equivalent | PAYE

Key Responsibilities

* Plan and deliver engaging RE lessons

* Teach across KS3 and KS4

* Encourage debate, reflection and analytical thinking

* Assess and monitor pupil progress effectively

* Contribute to wider personal development initiatives


The Ideal Candidate

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

* Strong subject knowledge in Religious Education

* Ability to facilitate respectful and balanced discussions

* Commitment to inclusive practice and high expectations

* Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
