Role Purpose
As a Junior Project Planner, you will support the Project Planner on live multi-disciplinary projects by developing realistic and achievable project plans, setting quantifiable targets, and providing on-site field progress measurement support to inform management decisions.
Key Functions of the Graduate Project Planner
* Perform take-offs aligned with the construction WBS for labour and metrics loading of the schedule.
* Develop and maintain metrics trackers with quantities for tracking purposes.
* Provide on-site planning support to the Project Management Team.
* Measure progress of multi-disciplinary installations on-site.
* Compile and develop progress reports and dashboards, and attend progress meetings as required.
Graduate Project Planner Responsibilities
In collaboration with your project team, you will be responsible for executing various project stages, including:
Business Unit Planning & Technical Support:
* Monthly KPI reporting and manpower forecasting.
* Planning process audits, and updates to processes and procedures.
* Developing project reference data in databases.
* Collaborating with EHS and Quality departments for aligned monthly reporting.
* Supporting claim development.
Programme Coordination (Planning Phase):
* Supporting schedule development as needed.
* Assisting in labour and metrics loading through take-offs on construction drawings in line with WBS.
* Populating trackers with relevant data.
* Producing build methodology phasing drawings.
Status & Performance (Controlling Phase):
* Supporting data collection and collation of actual installation progress for earned value and performance analysis.
* Assisting in the compilation and distribution of progress reports (internal, external, dashboards).
* Supporting schedule management, revision, and maintenance.
General:
* Identify opportunities to improve service to internal customers.
* Identify opportunities to improve processes.
Minimum Requirements
* Third-level qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Construction Management. Strong trades background with planning aptitude will be considered.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Project, P6, or equivalent planning software, and Microsoft Office tools, with excellent report writing skills.
* Strong time management skills to meet demanding schedules and reporting deadlines.
