Job Description
Wood is seeking an experienced Project Manager with extensive FEED and EPC experience to join our Stockton office and expand our diverse project portfolio.
Position: Project Manager Location: Stockton, UK (expected to work 3 days from office)
The Role
You will deliver project excellence across assigned portfolios, providing certainty and confidence to customers and sponsors, and maintaining robust control of scope, schedule, cost, and risk.

Our portfolio spans green hydrogen, fuel switching, renewable energy transition, UK refineries, petrochemical and fine chemical facilities, and pharmaceutical sites. We also design pilot plants for emerging technologies and partner on full‑scale commercial facilities.

Responsibilities
* Perform P&L responsibility, commercial and financial accountability, including revenue delivery, margin & overhead management, budgeting, forecasting, risk & opportunity reviews, cost controls, accounts payable/billing and cash collection.
* Contribute to project proposals and plans, determining timelines, procedures, staffing, and resource allocation; set evaluation parameters.
* Negotiate changes to scope or specification with customers following the Change Management process.
* Pursue innovation opportunities (digitalisation, technology use, high‑value engineering) to add value to Wood and customers.
* Develop project procedures and lead production of execution plans (scope of work, deliverables list, master schedule, budget, org charts, risk register).
* Report progress regularly to senior management and/or customers.
* Deliver agreed schedule and financial performance, intervening proactively to avoid slippage.
* Ensure project team competence and lead risk identification and mitigation during execution.
* Lead project HSSE, establish initiatives, auditing schedules, and address HSSE & quality issues proactively.
* Guide and direct a multidisciplinary team, including external specialists across multiple sites.
* Promote a culture of performance improvement on complex projects and supply chains.
Qualifications
* University degree in a relevant discipline.
* Project Management Professional (PMP), Associate in Project Management (APM), or equivalent certification (preferred).
* Strong experience in related fields, industries, and locations.
* Proven project management experience with a solid understanding of business issues.
* In-depth knowledge of project management techniques, goals, drivers, and strategies.
* Experience developing and implementing success metrics and benefits for multiple projects.
* Skilled in stakeholder prioritisation and developing stakeholder management plans.
* Ability to interface with key stakeholders to create and maintain requirements and acceptance criteria.
* Knowledge of risk management processes and assessment methods.
* Capability to estimate costs on standard projects using common techniques.
* Strong grasp of contract models, conditions, types, and suitability.
* Experience delivering effective project initiation for multi‑phase projects and producing execution plans.
* Familiarity with international and company quality assurance standards.
* Knowledge of commercial and contract conditions for procurement of goods and services.
* Expertise in scheduling techniques, properties, and uses.
* Project monitoring and forecasting skills.
* Management of change control processes with sub‑contractors and interfaces.
* Comprehensive understanding of deliverables, information management, and handover activities.
* Understanding of cash‑flow management and cost‑at‑completion forecasting.
