Overview
Band 7/8a Clinical Psychologist (Mental Health) based in Wrexham CMHT, North Wales. This permanent 8a post (Band 7 development post possible) involves working within the NHS secondary care AMH Clinical Psychology & Psychological Services, with opportunities for research and clinical networking across North Wales and All Wales. The post offers mentorship, supervision, and development within the department, with links to the School of Psychology and the DClinPsych Department at the University of Wales, Bangor.
The post holder will be well supported within the BCUHB AMH Clinical Psychology & Psychological Services, with potential for research, clinical networking, and ongoing professional development.
Main duties
The AMH Clinical Psychology and Psychology Services are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced 8a (Band 7 development post possible) Clinical Psychologist, to be based and work full time in Wrexham CMHT. This is a permanent post, and the post holder will work as part of integrated secondary mental health services for adults with complex and severe mental health needs. The post holder will:
* Integrate with CMHT colleagues, providing specialist psychological knowledge and expertise to the team.
* Provide direct clinical input to clients and contribute through training, supervision, and formulation work.
* Attend clinical MDT meetings, referral meetings (SPOA), and CMHT business meetings, and participate in strategic and clinical leadership.

Qualification and Person specification
Essential criteria
* Good Honours degree in Psychology; eligibility for Chartered status with the BPS.
* HCPC Registration as a Clinical Psychologist.
* Postgraduate Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (or equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS.
* Clinical supervision training for Doctoral trainees.
Desirable criteria
* Advanced training in research design and methodology.
Experience
Essential criteria
* Significant experience of qualified clinical psychology practice.
Desirable criteria
* Knowledge of a variety of relevant therapeutic approaches for mental health work and assessments.
