Structural Test Engineer - T&D
Motorsport Valley | Sector: Motorsport | Type: Permanent
Matchtech are working on behalf of a prestigious Formula One team to recruit a Structural Test Engineer for their cutting-edge Test & Development (T&D) Group.
This role offers a unique chance to work at the forefront of F1 technology, planning and delivering critical structural tests for major car components - from wings and floors to chassis impact structures. Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan and deliver structural testing activities both on-site and off-site.
2. Collaborate with design engineers to interpret test requirements.
3. Work with T&D technicians on test setup, rig assembly, and data acquisition.
4. Create detailed test protocols, select sensors/transducers, and analyse test data.
5. Deliver accurate and clear test reports, ensuring data is logged and stored properly.
6. Contribute ideas to improve equipment and methods within the T&D department.
7. Represent the values of honesty, inclusion, and collaboration within the team.
What We're Looking For:
8. A degree in Mechanical, Automotive or Motorsport Engineering.
9. Experience in a test or R&D environment within motorsport, aerospace, or similar.
10. Strong knowledge of data logging systems, measurement techniques, and sensor selection.
11. Familiarity with composite materials and their behaviour under load.
12. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-driven mindset.
13. A genuine interest in test data and validation engineering.
This is a full-time, office-based role located at the team's high-performance campus in Motorsport Valley, with occasional travel to off-site testing facilities.
