Job Description
We design, build, and optimise the operations of leading private‑sector businesses within the consumer sector, helping them unlock the value of AI, digital and sustainability. Working across Deloitte, we combine business design, process engineering, and cost transformation with data and technology fluency to solve our clients’ biggest challenges and bring concepts into reality. We need ambitious, entrepreneurial and curious people who drive innovation and thrive in disruption.
Role Overview
As an Operations Transformation Associate Director for the Logistics Industry, you will spearhead large‑scale transformation programmes that improve operational performance, enable digital capabilities, and modernise logistics networks. You will combine strategic advisory with hands‑on programme leadership, guiding multidisciplinary teams to deliver measurable value. You will also play a key role in business development — building client relationships, defining value propositions, and contributing to the growth of our logistics transformation practice.
Your Responsibilities
* Strategic Leadership & Programme Ownership
o Define the overall transformation strategy and roadmap for clients in the logistics industry covering digital modernisation, operating‑model change, cost‑to‑serve optimisation, and supply‑chain redesign.
o Lead programme initiation, planning, execution and delivery ensuring initiatives meet objectives on scope, time, cost and quality.
o Oversee multiple transformation workstreams (e.g., warehousing, transportation, network design, robotics/automation, last‑mile delivery and customer experience).
o Ensure interdependencies, risks, resources and benefits are identified and managed with clear governance and reporting.
* Client & Stakeholder Engagement
o Act as primary senior‑level point of contact with logistics clients (C‑suite, senior leadership, business unit heads).
o Build trusted advisory relationships, influencing stakeholder alignment and ensuring buy‑in across teams.
o Facilitate workshops and design sessions to co‑create future‑state models, transformation blueprints, business cases, organisational structures and operating models.
* Programme Management Excellence
o Manage resources, budgets and financials for transformation programmes; ensure commercial discipline and profitability.
o Provide leadership and mentoring to project teams, fostering a high‑performance culture and building internal capability.
* Consulting & Business Development
o Identify new business opportunities within the logistics sector leveraging industry knowledge and client relationships.
o Develop proposals, shape service offerings and support go‑to‑market strategy for the logistics transformation practice.
o Represent the firm and contribute to thought leadership: participate in industry forums, speak at events and share insights about logistics transformation trends.
o Understand logistics business dynamics, regulatory environment, compliance and operational constraints to shape realistic, pragmatic solutions that deliver measurable value.
Qualifications and Experience
* Proven depth of knowledge of the operational dynamics and industry trends in one or more logistics areas (e.g., warehouse transformation, transportation & fleet optimisation, network strategy, supply‑chain digitalisation, last‑mile operations, sustainability & ESG).
* Experience of using AI/automation to accelerate key operational processes or optimise ways of working in one of the above sectors.
* Experience developing and leading comprehensive change‑management plans including communications strategy, stakeholder engagement, training & coaching, resistance management and adoption tracking.
* Previous consulting experience, whether as an independent advisor or in‑house.
* Experience as a senior‑level operational role in at least one logistics organisation, demonstrating knowledge of the overall operating model.
* Track record of generating and developing new business with commercial viability and operational deliverability.
* Effective team collaboration as part of a management or leadership team.
* Additional desirable experience: warehouse transformation, transportation & fleet optimisation, network strategy, supply‑chain digitalisation, last‑mile & parcel operations, sustainability & ESG, AI/automation, change‑management, consulting, senior‑level logistics roles, B2B sales, leadership teamwork.
