Job Summary/Purpose
To partner with relative Heads of Functions to support, develop and enhance all learning and development initiatives in our technical academies.
To identify and suggest new and refreshed learning and development requirements in line with business requirements and changing legislation
To continually measure effectiveness of learnings through key identified metrics
To provide a focal point of advice and support for academy requirements in the business with HR Business Partners and their stakeholders
To oversee and manage the annual intake process for TW Production Academy
To partner with relevant external bodies and the CITB and HBF on the skills shortage strategy and to ensure funding is maximised
Primary Responsibilities
HR Teamwork
* Contribute as a member of the Talent and Resourcing team to the development of Talent Strategy, tools and processes
* Work with colleagues across the company to ensure best practice and a consistent approach to our academies
* To use experience of other sectors to challenge the approach to learning and development associated with the housebuilding industry.
Learning and Development Activity
* Source internal/external suppliers to provide focused, cost effective delivery of the in-house portfolio academy learning
* Regularly carry out quality assurance checks and continuous improvement on training providers to ensure a quality standard is maintained
* Develop an evaluation process for all in-house training and development.
* Develop blended learning solutions and ensure systems access and functionality is suitable for all TW learning & development offerings
Training Delivery
* Fulfil the role of hands on trainer and facilitator where appropriate
* Ensure that best practice and training successes are shared across the company
* Represent the company at external training networking events.
CITB/HBF
* Maintain close working relationships with CITB and HBF
* Update business units on new initiatives and CITB support available.
* Lead on development steering group of House Builders Skills Partnership
Departmental Training Programmes
* Create a structure for new academies within functions. Assist in progressing associated skills training. Ensure a seamless link between skills and behavioural training
* Ensure that performance development needs are easily sourced
* Liaise with Heads of Function, Regional Directors and Managing Directors to promote best practice
* Working with regional directors, identify training requirements within particular disciplines for skills training and facilitate solutions
Experience, Qualifications, Technical Requirements
* Individuals must be able to build relationships at all levels and be credible and influential at senior levels.
* They must have a good knowledge of L&D techniques, and are experienced in handling training delivery, assessment/development centres, and competency frameworks.
* They must have drive and conviction and inspire confidence.
* The ability to communicate, facilitate and negotiate will also be useful in this role.
* Experience of change management initiatives is desirable.
