Senior Business Excellence Engineer – United Kingdom

The company’s Orthopaedics business, now operating as DePuy Synthes, is creating next‑generation, personalized treatments for joint reconstruction and related therapies.
As a Senior Business Excellence Engineer, you will support the continuous improvement of manufacturing processes through the implementation of the Johnson & Johnson Production System (JJPS), Lean, Six Sigma, and other best‑practice methodologies. You will work cross‑functionally, lead projects, and foster a culture of sustained operational excellence at the DePuy Synthes site.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate with Value Stream Teams and functional departments to develop business process standards aligned with JJPS, including Standard Work, 6S, Digital Performance Management, A3 Problem Solving, and Value Stream Mapping.
* Shape and lead comprehensive site‑wide change programs using Lean and Six Sigma to improve quality, reduce cost, and shorten lead times.
* Embed and sustain the “Managing Site Performance” business process standard across all levels of operations.
* Develop, coach, and nurture a continuous‑improvement culture, engaging all employees in process‑enhancement initiatives.
* Oversee all continuous improvement projects, ensuring they are conducted safely, with a focus on quality, and deliver the highest standards.
* Maximise engagement at all organisational levels and communicate business‑related issues or opportunities to management.
* Perform other duties as required.
Required Qualifications
* Degree in process excellence, manufacturing, engineering, or a related discipline.
* Minimum 5 years of experience in a medical‑device manufacturing environment.
* Working knowledge of World Class Manufacturing and Lean Manufacturing.
* Certification in Root‑Cause Problem‑Solving methodology.
Desirable Qualifications
* Lean Belt certification.
* Experience within a highly regulated medical‑device industry.
* Project management qualification.
