Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Deputy Manager to join our team. The role is initially for 1 year to cover maternity leave, with potential to lead to permanent employment. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a background in childcare and early childhood education. This role is vital in supporting the overall operations of our facility, ensuring a safe, nurturing environment for children while promoting effective communication with parents and staff.
Hours:
25.75 hours per week - 3 days per week.
Responsibilities
* Assist the Manager in overseeing daily operations and staff management, deputising in their absence.
* Foster a positive and engaging atmosphere for children, staff, and parents.
* Supervise and support staff in their roles, providing guidance and training as needed.
* Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations, including daily risk assessments, ensuring a secure environment for all children.
* Communicate effectively with parents regarding their children's progress and any concerns.
* To order and maintain equipment and resources in absence of Manager within agreed budgets.
* Planning of safe and appropriate play opportunities for children aged between 3 and 11 years.
* Liaising with administrators to ensure accurate record keeping and reporting as required.
* Co-ordinating the collection of children from schools and their safe delivery to parents or named carers.
* Assisting the preparation and serving of refreshments for the children.
Requirements
* Proven experience in a management or leadership role within a childcare setting.
* At least a Level 3 qualification in child care and/or Play work.
* Experience working with children, demonstrating a strong understanding of their needs.
* Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
* Ability to drive and hold a valid driving licence is preferred.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
