Job Description
A successful and expanding construction/manufacturing business requires a Buyer. The role involves operational tasks, stock control, and purchase order management, and is suitable for a Junior Buyer or Purchasing Assistant looking to progress.
The Buyer will join a supportive team of Buyers and Stock Controllers, reporting to a Procurement Manager. The role will evolve to include more strategic responsibilities, such as managing purchase orders, monitoring stock levels, and building supplier relationships.
Specific Duties of the Buyer
* Providing administrative support to the Procurement Manager and procurement team
* Managing supplier relationships—monitoring performance, building relationships, and negotiating
* Conducting supply market intelligence activities and supporting supplier selection decisions
* Liaising with 3PL partners and warehouse colleagues regarding deliveries
* Monitoring stock and inventory levels
Applicant Criteria
* Purchasing experience (e.g., Junior Buyer, Purchasing Assistant, Purchasing Administrator)
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
* Commercial acumen
* IT skills
