Looking for work during the Summer Vacation? Do you have an enthusiastic approach to work?
If so, we would like you to join our Facilities cleaning team working in Residences at the University of Exeter. Once our students leave for the vacation the University transforms into a venue welcoming everyone from visitors attending conferences and seminars on campus to visiting groups and B&B guests holidaying in Devon.
Working as part of a team, together you will deliver a high standard of work; tasks will include cleaning bedrooms, making beds, cleaning en-suites, deep cleaning of student kitchens and communal areas. You don’t need prior experience in cleaning as full training will be given but an aptitude for cleaning is essential.
Summer work will be available from 01 June 2026 - 12 September 2026.
The hours of work are variable (up to 25 hours per week, 5 out of 7 days per week) and will include weekend work. Hourly rate is £15.07, which includes holiday provision.
The closing date for completed applications is 19 April 2026.
If successful you will be engaged as a temporary worker under the University’s Temporary Worker Terms and Conditions, and claim for your work on a hourly basis on the University’s online timesheet system. Following acceptance of an offer you will be required to complete a Temporary Worker Registration Form and conduct a right to work check. The work cannot start until these steps have been taken. The full temporary worker process can be found on this webpage.
The University of Exeter is an equal opportunity employer which is 'Positive about Disabled People'. Whilst all applicants will be judged on merit alone, we particularly welcome applications from groups currently underrepresented in the workforce.
