Chapman Tate Associates is partnering with a leading managed services provider specialising in enterprise backup, disaster recovery, and hybrid cloud infrastructure.
We’re looking for a Junior Backup & Disaster Recovery Engineer who wants to build their career in modern data protection and cloud technologies. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting enterprise backup environments and working with virtualisation and cloud platforms.
You’ll join a collaborative technical team delivering Backup-as-a-Service (BaaS), Disaster Recovery-as-a-Service (DRaaS), and infrastructure support to organisations across multiple sectors.
Responsibilities
* Monitor and manage enterprise backup environments
* Support Microsoft 365 backup operations
* Assist with cloud-based backup platforms and reporting tools
* Support onboarding of new customers into managed backup services
* Participate in disaster recovery testing exercises
* Respond to backup-related incidents and service requests
* Investigate backup failures and escalate where required
* Maintain accurate service desk updates and documentation
* Assist with operational tasks across virtualisation platforms including VMware and Hyper-V
* Support administration of Microsoft environments and Microsoft 365 tenants
* Support backup policies across Azure, AWS, and SaaS environments
* Assist with data protection for Microsoft 365 and other business applications
What we’re looking for / Qualifications
* Exposure to enterprise backup technologies (e.g. Veeam or similar)
* Experience with VMware or Hyper-V environments
* Microsoft 365 administration
* Experience in managed services or IT support environments
A passion for learning, strong troubleshooting ability, and good documentation skills are key.
Desirable Certifications
* VMCE (or working towards)
* VMware Foundations / working towards VCP
* Microsoft 365 Administrator

Hybrid role with the ability to travel to the Oxfordshire area when required.
Requirements
* Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
