Chemical Formatting Junior Scientist

SRG is working with a specialist researcher in the biotech sector who are hiring for a new member of their chemical formatting team. Initially the job would just be for a 6-month period but has a good chance of going permanent. The role will consist of preparing and weighing laboratory samples as well as formatting the data computationally. It will be a fairly even split of laboratory and office work and would suit someone with previous Microsoft excel experience and/or a background in laboratory sample preparation.
Role Description
1. Preparing and organising incoming chemical compounds, including tracking, weighing, and initial sample preparation for scientific teams.
2. Supporting the smooth running of the laboratory by assisting with stock keeping, general lab maintenance, and other operational tasks as needed.
3. Accurately tracking laboratory work using various software tools and maintain precise records in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and company policies.
4. Working closely with team members and other departments, ensuring clear communication and effective teamwork
5. Requirements
6. 5 GCSEs at grade C or above or equivalent qualifications
7. Experience of working with Excel spreadsheets
8. Good IT skills
9. Laboratory experience, especially pipetting and liquid handling would be particularly advantageous
10. Able to commute to the Oxford area on a daily basis
11. Full right to work in the UK
