Associate Live Streaming and VOD Engineer
We are looking for an enthusiastic & forward thinking Live Streaming & VOD Engineer to join us in the Content Processing Team. If you want to work in an area ahead of the curve in streaming tech this could be the place for you!
These services need to be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and as such the Live Streaming and VOD engineer will be an integral part of the Online Video systems support within the Content Processing Team and wider Content Supply and Distribution area.
The team
Content Supply & Distribution sources and delivers amazing content to multiple platforms not just in the UK but all around the world.
The Content Processing team supports the business providing an in-house team of Application and Operational support specialists with exposure and experience of Agile and ITIL methodologies and processes.
ITV's presence has grown recently in the areas of Video On Demand and Streaming services which are now delivered across PC's, Connected TV's, Internet TV, Mobile & Tablet Devices for ITV Hub. In addition services are also supplied to a number of partner TV broadcasters e.g. SKY, Virgin and Amazon.
Responsibilities:
* Provision of Operational Support during office hours for technical systems needed as part of the IP Video Distribution and VOD delivery process, primarily AWS Media Services, Elemental Live, and Telestream (Vantage).
* Creation, maintenance and regression testing of digital media workflows.
* Ensure all new workflows, major changes and releases are transitioned into operations in accordance with documentation and handover procedures.
* Act as a point of escalation for Media and workflow Operational issues.
* Maintain and build good working relationships with key ITV stakeholders in the content delivery chain.
* Work closely with ITV Technology Architects and Stakeholders.
* Provide out-of-hours support on a fixed rota basis
* Hybrid/remote working
Skills you'll need (minimum criteria)
* Experience working in the Broadcast/Media sector, with a focus on OTT and streaming technology.
* Knowledge of video encoders, transcoding, and codecs.
* Experience with Application/Operational Support (on-prem and cloud-based)
* Comfortable with technical problem-solving, debugging and resolution.
Other things we're looking for (key criteria)
* Understanding of Live Streaming & Video On Demand (VOD) Content encoding and delivery principles on multiple platforms.
* Knowledge of Incident, Problem and Change Management ITIL processes.
* Live Stream monitoring (Dataminer, Bridgetech, Nevion)
