About the role:

Horsham District Council is looking for a Neighbourhood Warden Team Leader within the wider Community Services team to lead and manage a team of 14 Neighbourhood Wardens across the District.

As Neighbourhood Warden Team Leader, you will manage the Sussex Police accredited Neighbourhood Wardens in close liaison with Parish and Neighbourhood Councils to ensure the schemes are operating to a high level. You will attend regular Steering Group meetings and ensure the wardens are working to the priorities set by the Parish and Neighbourhood Councils and that they, in return, are satisfied with the service. Working closely with the emergency services and other agencies regarding the Community Safety Partnership priorities and projects, you will ensure the key priorities are being met.

You will often be based out in the field and will work 5 shifts on a rota basis across a 6 day pattern, including some evenings and weekends, in order to work alongside the wardens. You will be fully trained as a police accredited Neighbourhood Warden (training provided) in order to cover some warden absences, when necessary.

About you:

To succeed as a Neighbourhood Warden Team Leader you will have substantial supervision or line management experience and the ability to communicate effectively with a range of people. You will be able to quickly identify problems or issues and use your initiative to find a solution. Possessing good written communication skills, a competent IT user, excellent organisational skills, a confident manner and an analytical mind, you will be able to bring these to bear in order to successfully achieve your remit.

PPA

Applicants invited for interview will be asked to complete a Thomas' Personal Profile Analysis (PPA) which provides a rapid and deep insight into behavioural preferences and communication style.

DBS

Due to the nature of this role it is exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and is subject to enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) clearance.

Council Vehicles

As this role requires the post holder to drive Council vehicles, periodic driving assessments will be required.
