Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, talented clerk who is seeking the flexibility of part-time working to support the Local Governing Body in various schools across our Trust. Local Governing Body meetings are held at each school three times a year, with an additional pay committee meeting held once per school/per year. We have a range of opportunities on offer in locations including Slough, Hillingdon and Surrey and the possibility of others within Southwest London and Kingston. Please note that some meetings are held in the evening.
As a clerk you will be integral to promoting the effective governance of the Trust and ensure proceedings are conducted in accordance with all relevant legislation, regulations and established guidance. You will provide appropriate support to Local Governing Body Chairs by managing paperwork for meetings, providing draft agendas and producing accurate and concise minutes of meetings whilst maintaining up to date information on membership. In addition, you will advise the Local Governing Body on procedural matters where appropriate and may also be asked to support ad-hoc panel meetings.
You will be offered job specific training, as well as ongoing support from the Governance Manager whilst being provided with the opportunity to network with other clerks.
Responsibilities
* Manage paperwork for Local Governing Body meetings, provide draft agendas and produce accurate and concise minutes.
* Maintain up-to-date information on membership and advise on procedural matters where appropriate.
* Support Local Governing Body Chairs and may assist with ad-hoc panel meetings.
* Promote the effective governance of the Trust in accordance with relevant legislation, regulations and guidance.
Qualifications and Experience
* Part-time role with flexibility to support meetings across multiple locations (Slough, Hillingdon, Surrey, and potentially other sites in Southwest London and Kingston).
* Ability to manage meeting documentation, draft agendas, and compile minutes.
* Willingness to learn and participate in job-specific training; ability to work with Governance Manager and network with other clerks.
