SEN Teacher – Secondary (Complex Needs)
Location: Gateshead
Contract: Full-time, Ongoing
Start date: November 2025
Pay: £120–£200 per day (PAYE)
Are you a compassionate and creative teacher who thrives in a nurturing, specialist environment?
We’re looking for an SEN Teacher to join a dedicated team supporting secondary-age pupils with complex learning needs. You’ll work with a small class supported by experienced TAs, delivering a mix of academic and life-skills-based learning.
Your day-to-day:
* Delivering engaging, hands-on lessons adapted to varying abilities
* Embedding communication strategies such as PECS or Makaton
* Working closely with the SENCO and external specialists
* Promoting independence, wellbeing, and progress for every learner
What we’d love to see:
* QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
* Experience with SEN learners (ASD, MLD, or PMLD experience ideal)
* Calm, resilient approach and genuine passion for inclusive education
