Manage the day-to-day operation of our consumer site. You will be supporting the Operational Management of the depot in maintaining and managing the assets, resources, and facilities to maximise both cost efficiencies.
Working hours: Monday - Friday days
Salary: £29,000 per annum
Key Duties of an Operations Supervisor:
* Actively demonstrate leadership qualities in the day-to-day running of shifts, encouraging and coaching all staff
* Maintain internal databases and follow up on all defects with the Fleet Department where applicable
* Administer the vehicle and trailer maintenance program
* Complete all depot daily checks during shifts and record on the central system, including trailers, returns, re-books, and pallets
* Maintain direct contact with drivers regarding daily performance and improvement actions
* Provide information and support the Operations Manager to enable planning and management of depot payroll
* Ensure all personnel files are up to date, including license validation, personal details, and completed training
* Coordinate the recruitment and training of employees
* Assist in accident investigations and follow-up actions
* Complete daily risk assessments of the yard and office
* Identify and inform the Operations Manager of any maintenance and repair issues on-site
* Provide information to the Senior Operations Supervisor & Transport Manager for weekly KPI reports
Qualifications
* Proven track record of leading and motivating a diverse team to achieve goals
* Excellent communication skills, energetic leadership style, and strong problem-solving abilities
* Previous experience in a transport-related role is essential, with knowledge of EU Hours, Working Time Directives, and Tachograph legislation, preferably with CPC National Qualification
* Proficient in PC use, especially Excel spreadsheets
* Ability to work independently and resolve issues proactively
* Minimum 1 year of experience in transport operations
