We are looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate individual to join our Inpatient Dietetic Team at WVT.
You will be responsible for providing a high quality, professional dietetic service to a range of service users within Wye Valley NHS Trust including patients on general medical and surgical wards, care of the elderly wards and orthopaedic wards at Hereford County Hospital, and patients at WVT Community Hospitals.
You will have the opportunity to contribute to audit, service development projects and student training.
You will also have the opportunity to take part in our clinical attachment programme to gain experience in specialist areas such as: diabetes, oncology, HEF, renal, paediatrics.
You will be supported in your role by our Nutrition Support Team Leader and the wider dietetic team.
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for managing, assessing and treating your own workload of inpatients who may require therapeutic diets, oral nutrition support and/or enteral nutrition support.
You will work alongside the Inpatient Dietetic team including Dietetic Assistants and Nutrition Specialist Practitioner, and collaborate with other members of hospital staff including medical, nursing and catering staff.
You will be responsible for participating in student training, and be involved in quality improvement initiatives, audit and service development.

Education & Qualifications
* BSc/MSc/PGDip in Nutrition and Dietetics & Current HCPC registration
* Evidence of an up-to-date portfolio demonstrating CPD
* BDA Member

* Ability to fulfil the travel requirements of post
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
* Working knowledge of common clinical conditions and best dietetic management
* Able to communicate with clients using dietary counselling, motivational and negotiation skills.
* Able to analyse information and to make judgements on dietetic issues.
* Able to be flexible and adaptable in terms of working hours and work location.
* Able to demonstrate good written and oral communication skills with people from a variety of backgrounds, without risk of misunderstanding.
* Able to plan and prioritise own caseload using time management skills.
* Presentation and teaching skills
* IT skills to support clinical practice (e.g. patient information systems, e-mail, internet, literature search, dietary analysis, word processing, presentation packages).
