A unique opportunity has become available in the Legal Team in NHS Tayside due to the retiral of the current postholder. This is a busy, varied and rewarding role and the successful candidate will be a professional who thrives in these conditions.
The Team manages the investigation and progression of all claims in conjunction with NHS National Services Scotland Central Legal Office (Litigation) who act on behalf of NHS Tayside. It is involved in the progression of Fatal Accident Inquiries and provides a professional litigation advice and support service on personal injury and medical negligence claims to Tayside Health Board. The Team Manager is the principle contact and liaison between the Board and the CLO.
The Team also provides a dedicated witness support service to all staff involved in litigation as well as to staff involved in other legal matters, where possible.
The successful candidate will lead a small team of dedicated professionals to deliver a high quality specialist service covering:
* Providing specialist advice on litigation to the Board
* Providing a witness support service to all staff
* Delivering training and awareness sessions across the organisation
* Leading on the Continuing Professional Development of the Legal Team.
The successful candidate will have a relevant legal qualification, experience in claims handling and experience in managing staff.
You will be required to achieve the mandatory Induction standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland and to comply with the Code of Conduct throughout your employment.
Hours of work are: 37 Hrs Per week
