Responsibilities
The Healthy Child Assistant will deliver universal health reviews and breast‑feeding support as part of the 0‑19 Healthy Child Programme. This role involves lone working with parents and their children during development reviews, managing your own time and priorities, and acting on your own initiative while escalating issues to Specialist Public Health Practitioners who lead the Healthy Families Team.
Key duties include:
* Conducting health reviews and providing breastfeeding support to children and families.
* Escalating issues and liaising with the Healthy Families Team as required.
* Managing time effectively and utilizing IT systems to record and track reviews.
* Working independently and as part of a team to meet service needs of children and families.
Qualifications
To be successful you will need:
* Proven experience working with children and families, including lone working for development reviews.
* Passionate attitude towards and experience with breastfeeding support.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong time‑management, IT, and organisational skills.
* Understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures.
