Overview
An established and fast-growing organisation within the education and training sector is seeking a motivated and results-driven Business Development Manager to join its high-performing commercial team.
This role plays a key part in driving organisational growth through new business acquisition, strategic partnerships, and expansion of existing accounts. The successful candidate will be confident operating in a fast-paced environment, engaging with senior stakeholders, and identifying opportunities to deliver tailored, value-led solutions.
You will act as a key representative of the organisation, leading both remote and face-to-face meetings, understanding customer challenges, and supporting long-term growth ambitions within technical education.
Key Responsibilities
* Own the full sales journey to identify, pursue and secure new and existing business opportunities
* Prospect and generate your own leads, alongside converting inbound enquiries
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including education providers and public-sector bodies
* Deliver against individual and team sales targets and KPIs
* Apply a consultative sales approach to understand customer needs and recommend tailored solutions
* Identify opportunities to maximise growth across a portfolio of products and services
* Negotiate and finalise commercial agreements, ensuring profitable outcomes
* Analyse sales and market data to inform targeted decision-making
* Maintain accurate records within the CRM system
* Provide regular performance updates and reports to senior management
* Capture market intelligence to support future sales and marketing activity
Key Requirements
* Full UK driving license
* Proven success in new business generation within the business-to-business market
* Ideally from a training, education or assessment background but not essential
* Experience working to targets and KPIs in a performance-driven environment
* Strong communication and presentation skills
* Confident negotiator with solid contract management experience
* Excellent pipeline and CRM management
* Strong organisational and time-management skills
* Ability to build effective relationships across diverse stakeholders
