Health Care Assistant Castle Gate Medical Practice
The healthcare assistant/nursing assistant/healthcare support worker will provide the following nursing services, in agreement with the nurse manager/senior practice nurse and the GPs Carry out measurements (height, weight, blood pressure, etc) for health checks, such as new patient checks and healthy lifestyle checks (MOTs), provide lifestyle advice to patients or refer to nurse or GP as appropriate Obtain blood samples, prepare forms, store samples and dispatch to the lab Carry out ECGs Carry out blood pressure checks Carry out peak flow measurements Carry out urinalysis Provide healthy lifestyle advice to patients Assist with child immunisation clinics Assist with adult immunisations Provide assistance to the GPs, nurses and other health professionals in carrying out complex procedures, as required Maintain accurate records of treatment and procedures Clinical support Ensure equipment and treatment rooms are maintained to appropriate levels of cleanliness, eg sterilising equipment, tidying rooms Ensure GPs rooms, treatment rooms and minor surgery suites are stocked with appropriate amounts of equipment and clinical supplies Assist with ordering clinical supplies and equipment to ensure stock is maintained Chaperone patients as required during consultation with other health professionals
