Safeguarding and Care Planning Team
Within Safeguarding and Care Planning, we firmly believe in the power of strength-based and relational social work, addressing behaviours linked to adult and childhood trauma, and compromised child/parental relationships.
The team holds cases where the child is on a child protection plan and/or subject to proceedings (including LBP) or Looked After under section 20 of the Children Act 1989. Some CiN cases will remain within the service based on established relationships.
Current Vacancy
We are recruiting for a Consultant Social Worker.
Role Responsibilities
* Hold a manageable caseload to assist with the supervision of practice and decision-making of social work practitioners.
* Ensure high standards of practice in line with legislation, regulations, performance frameworks, and council policies.
Candidate Requirements
* Significant experience in statutory child-care social work in a multidisciplinary setting.
* Knowledge of statutory and organizational contexts, corporate parenting, and government policies.
* Skills in planning and delivering interventions with complex families, analyzing situations, and managing risks.
* Experience responding to issues of separation and loss for children and young people.
* Recognized social work qualification (e.g., SW Degree, CQSW, Dip SW, CSS).
* Ongoing CPD, registered with Social Work England.
* Progressed to Level 3, Practice Educator Level 2 (or willing to work towards it).
* Current driving license and access to a vehicle or mobility support.
