Your responsibilities:
A Snapshot of Your Impact
As our Senior Enterprise Cloud & Infrastructure Architect, you will be the driving force behind our technology strategy, creating a scalable, secure, and resilient environment to support our ambitious growth plans. Your key responsibilities will include:
1. Architecting the Hybrid Future: Lead the design and evolution of our hybrid cloud strategy, governing our hyperscaler environments (Azure, GCP) while ensuring seamless integration with our on-premise virtualisation platforms (VMware) and data centres.
2. Driving Technical Governance: Establish and lead architectural review forums and technical deep dives. Develop and own the key deliverables (reference architectures, principles, patterns) that guide our engineering and operations teams.
3. Leading and Mentoring: Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of Domain Architects, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
4. Modernising Our Network & Security: Define the strategy for our global network, including SD-WAN, LAN/WLAN, and firewalls. Champion and implement a Zero-Trust security model across the entire enterprise.
5. Championing Automation: Lead our automation strategy, leveraging Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with tools like Terraform and Ansible, and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes to drive efficiency and reliability.
6. Providing Expert Oversight: Act as the ultimate technical authority for complex programmes, providing consultancy to senior leadership and intervening with expert guidance during critical incidents and problems to ensure resilience and stability.
What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):
The Expertise to Lead
We are looking for a seasoned leader with a proven track record of designing and implementing complex cloud and infrastructure architectures in a large enterprise environment. The ideal candidate will have:
7. Extensive Architectural Expertise: 10+ years of experience in a senior architecture role, with deep, hands-on knowledge of both public cloud (Azure, GCP) and on-premise infrastructure (virtualisation, networking, data centres).
8. Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Proven experience leading and mentoring other senior architects, with a passion for fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
9. Strategic & Governance Mindset: The ability to think strategically and translate business needs into technical solutions, while establishing the guardrails and governance to ensure they are built effectively and securely.
10. Broad Technical Acumen: Demonstrable expertise across a wide range of technologies, including networking (SD-WAN, LAN/WLAN, Firewalls), security (Zero-Trust), and automation (Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes).
11. Exceptional Communication Skills: The ability to act as a senior consultant, articulating complex technical concepts and their business implications to executive leadership.
