The Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring that all students, particularly those with SEND or additional learning needs, have full access to the curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide support to pupils, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities.
* Assist with developing and implementing Individual Education/Behaviour Plans and Personal Care Programmes.
* Work with students on a one-to-one basis or in small groups to provide targeted learning support.
* Encourage students to engage with learning and classroom activities.
* Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers.
* Support students with barriers to learning, including social, emotional, or behavioural difficulties.
* Assist in lesson planning and resource preparation for SEND students.
* Promote positive behaviour and manage classroom incidents effectively.
* Supervise pupils during break/lunch times and support out-of-school activities.
* Undertake administrative tasks such as photocopying or exam support (e.g., reading/scribing).
* Participate in first aid training and provide first aid support if required.

The Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual who is committed to supporting students' education and well-being. About you:

* GCSE English and Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
* Good numeracy, literacy, and IT skills (Microsoft Office).
* Ability to communicate effectively and build positive relationships with children and adults.
* Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work independently.
* Organised, proactive, and able to manage workload effectively.
* Awareness of child protection and safeguarding practices.
* Commitment to upholding the school’s values and inclusive ethos.

Desirable Skills & Qualifications:

* Teaching Assistant Level 1/2/3 qualification.
* First Aid certificate or willingness to train.
* Knowledge of school systems and SEND support strategies.
* Experience working with students with learning difficulties or disabilities.
