About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our Early Years team. This is a rewarding opportunity to support children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) within the EYFS setting, helping them to achieve their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
The role is to start in September and will be for the full academic year.
You will work closely with the class teacher, SENCo, and external professionals to provide tailored support to pupils, ensuring their individual needs are met through a structured and engaging approach.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide one-to-one and small group support for children with SEN in EYFS
* Assist in implementing personalised learning plans and EHCP targets
* Support pupils’ communication, social, emotional, and behavioural development
* Help create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
* Monitor and record pupil progress, contributing to reviews and planning
* Work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies
* Promote independence, confidence, and positive engagement in learning
About You
We are looking for someone who:
* Has experience working with children in Early Years and/or SEN settings
* Has a strong understanding of EYFS framework and child development
* Is patient, caring, and adaptable to individual pupil needs
* Demonstrates excellent communication and teamwork skills
* Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
* Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent) are desirable
Experience supporting children with autism, speech and language needs, or social/emotional difficulties would be an advantage.
