About Us
This is an exciting opportunity to gain excellent skills and experience supporting the finance work of the Home to School Travel team which supports the application process for children and young people in accessing independent travel to school. As an apprentice you will have a varied role supporting administrative processes and small projects. You’ll have responsibility for reporting, analytical capability and development of our finance system.
What will I be doing?
Supporting the team to help process Personal Travel Budgets, liaising with families about the process, payment details, analysing attendance data. Monitor and update spreadsheets, Personal Travel Budgets and invoicing.
The successful candidate will provide general business and administrative support to the team. This will include:
* Basic financial and statistical calculations
* Processing payments to suppliers
* Ordering goods and completing simple invoicing
* Responding to routine correspondence
* Model and promote good equalities practice and value diversity across the service
The team are based in City Hall but are currently working from home.
What do I need to have?
You Will Have:
* Practical experience of using spreadsheets and financial systems in the manipulation of data,
* Ability to accurately complete basic financial and arithmetic calculations,
* Ability to produce and analyse attendance and travel data,
* Good written and verbal communication skills in order to respond to enquiries and reply to correspondence,
* Ability to organise and prioritise work to meet and keep to deadlines and targets and awareness of pressures at busy times during the year.

Applying for an apprenticeship
To apply for an adult apprenticeship, you must be aged 16 years or over, at the start of employment with qualifications in English and Maths. If you do not have these, then you must be prepared to study for the Function Skills Level 2 in both subjects alongside your apprenticeship.
