SEND Teaching Assistant - Secondary SEND School
Location: Harrow, North West London
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Until the end of the academic year (with a strong likelihood of continuing into the new academic year)
SANZA is working with a very popular and well-regarded secondary SEND school in Harrow, North West London, to recruit an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible.
This role is ideal for a skilled and compassionate practitioner with a strong background in supporting students with complex needs. The successful candidate will be supporting a female student in Year 11, who has a combination of learning needs, behaviour needs and epilepsy, with frequent seizures.
The Role:
Providing 1:1 and small-group support to a student with complex SEND
Supporting emotional regulation and behaviour, particularly during challenging situations
Working calmly, patiently and consistently to guide and reassure the student
Responding appropriately to seizures and health needs
Working closely with teaching staff, SEN professionals and support services
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Have proven experience working with students with complex needs, ideally in a secondary or specialist setting
Be calm, patient and confident in managing behaviour in a positive and supportive way
Hold an up-to-date First Aid certificate (essential due to the student's epilepsy)
Be reliable, resilient and committed to inclusive education
Be available to start as soon as possible
