Overview
Location: Southbank, York
Hours of work: Minimum of 15 hours per week to work within an existing rota.
Rate of pay: £16.50 per hour
We are seeking a caring team of assistants to support Max, a child with quadriplegic cerebral palsy and a great sense of humour. Max is non-verbal but communicates effectively through facial expressions, eyes and a communication device. You will help with everyday life within our home on Southbank in York.
We welcome applications from those who have been in a care-giving role, preferably with children, but this is not essential. We are open to applicants who can work only on certain days/hours within these times and are seeking more than one carer to support on a job-share basis and sometimes as co-carers, as Max requires 2:1 care.
Responsibilities
* Support Max with daily activities and routines within the home.
* Engage Max in learning, play and activities, respecting his communication style.
* Collaborate with other carers to provide consistent 2:1 care as needed.
Qualifications
* Experience in a care-giving role is preferred, especially with children, but not essential.
* Ability to work within a rota and flexible schedule.
* Right to work in the U.K. at the start of employment.
