The Role
The Lead Practitioner of English will:
* Model outstanding teaching and learning in English, supporting colleagues to develop their practice.
* Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of an ambitious English curriculum across all key stages.
* Provide coaching and mentoring to teachers, including ECTs, to enhance pedagogical approaches and literacy strategies.
* Utilise data effectively to identify areas for improvement and implement targeted interventions.
* Contribute to whole-school teaching and learning initiatives, promoting literacy and academic writing.
The Ideal Candidate
We are seeking an outstanding English Teacher (QTS/QTLS) who:
* Possesses a proven track record of excellent teaching and securing strong student outcomes in English.
* Has significant experience in a leadership or mentoring capacity within an English department.
* Is passionate about innovation in English education and current pedagogical research.
* Demonstrates outstanding communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
