Associate Commissioning Editor (Unscripted)
CPS Group UK are delighted to be working with a well-respected and household name brand to appoint an Associate Commissioning Editor to play a key role in the development and production of specials content and global series across both streaming and linear platforms.
This role is a fantastic opportunity for a mid-level candidate, aspiring to move into a senior commissioning editor role, to build on their existing experience in production, development or commissioning, gaining invaluable experience and exposure to cutting-edge and culturally relevant shows and series.
Role Requirements
* Collaborate with Commissioning Editors and Development teams to identify, craft and pitch exciting content ideas which align the linear and streaming strategy/brand
* Communicating channel needs and strategy to producers, producing proposals, budgets and schedules from inception to greenlight
* Play a key role in developing a robust and ever-growing creative development pipeline
* Closely collaborate with EMEA Unscripted production teams to implement linear and streaming programming strategy across each production phase
* Communicate programming strategy, casting/staffing requirements, first-line notes and editorial feedback from pre-production to final delivery
* Actively contribute creative ideas across a broad range of unscripted genres (e.g. factual, history, docu-drama)
* Advocate for the Principal Editor on assigned projects, working to learn, maintain and deliver content that delivers excellence and adherence to brand values
* Maintain highest editorial standards within budgetary requirements, coordinating closely with Production Companies to ensure schedules, contractual obligations and timely on-budget deliver
* Support ‘special’ content projects as assigned (e.g. YouTube series)
* Support cross-functional collaboration (e.g. Marketing, Ad Sales, PR/Comms) to provide relevant assets and information to aide in the development of cross-platform content initiatives and strategy
* Work closely with the Research team to ensure factual accuracy and authentic storytelling
* Strategize titling, audience demographics and topics to ensure cultural relevance and improve ratings
Required Skills & Experience
* A background and track record in Unscripted Production/Editorial or Commissioning
* 5+ years’ experience producing a range of unscripted projects
* Strong E2E production workflow knowledge
* Ability to excel in a fast-paced, corporate environment, working closely with both internal C-Suite, Production Management and Development teams as well as external production partners
* Impeccable communication skills (written and verbal)
* Ability to understand and collaborate on production budgets
* Experienced in analysing research data and ratings to understand relevant programming and the wider competitive landscape
* A true team player with exceptional organisational skills
* Ability to build relationship at all levels, both internal and external
