The Role
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Software Validation & Verification Engineer to join an established engineering team working on advanced electro-mechanical products within a highly regulated environment.
This role will focus on developing and implementing robust software and firmware V&V processes, creating effective test environments and supporting the delivery of reliable, high-quality products. You will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams and play a key role in software quality throughout the full product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop, document and execute software and firmware validation and verification activities
* Create and maintain software test environments and processes
* Support the design, development and testing of software solutions
* Participate in Agile team activities including stand-ups, planning, reviews and retrospectives
* Provide technical support and troubleshooting for software systems
* Maintain accurate technical documentation and test records
* Support continuous improvement initiatives across engineering projects
* Work in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 procedures and company standards
Skills & Experience Required
* Strong background in software validation and verification
* Experience working across the full software lifecycle
* Commercial experience with:
* C
* C++
* C# .NET
* Visual Studio
* Experience within Agile/Scrum environments
* Experience testing safety-critical functions
* Ability to create and capture software/firmware test requirements
* Strong problem-solving and communication skills
* Able to manage workloads and projects to agreed deadlines
Desirable Experience
* LabVIEW
* Embedded software development
* Android/cross-platform application development
* Understanding of electronics and schematic reviews
* Experience working with electro-mechanical products
Additional Information
Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be eligible to obtain SC level security clearance.
A full UK driving licence and valid passport are required as occasional customer and supplier visits may be involved.
