Offer description

This is a remote position.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Employment Solicitor to join a niche, specialist employment practice in a highly flexible, consultancy-style role. The firm offers genuine autonomy over when and how you work, combined with a strong flow of quality instructions and the support of an established national employment team.

About the Firm

Our client is a dedicated employment law practice with a strong track record of advising both employers and employees across the UK. All lawyers focus exclusively on employment law, handling both contentious and non-contentious matters from day-to-day HR issues through to complex tribunal litigation.

The firm has grown steadily since its inception and now has a team of experienced solicitors supported by a solid infrastructure of IT and administrative staff. It is known for clear, pragmatic advice, a personable approach, and delivering City-level expertise at competitive rates.

The Role

You will work on a fully remote basis, managing your own employment law caseload while benefiting from a regular stream of inbound enquiries generated by the firm. Matters typically include settlement agreements, unfair dismissal, discrimination, redundancy, whistleblowing and broader HR advisory work for employer clients.

You will enjoy the freedom to shape your working pattern around other professional or personal commitments, with no unrealistic billing targets and the backing of a team that values collaboration and client service.

Key Responsibilities

Manage a varied caseload of employment matters including unfair dismissal, discrimination, redundancy, settlement agreements and employment tribunal claims.

Provide clear, commercial, and solutions-focused advice to both employer and employee clients.

Handle inbound enquiries, assess merits and convert leads into ongoing instructions.

Draft and review employment contracts, policies and associated documentation where required.

About You

5PQE+ Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with strong experience in employment law (contentious and/or non-contentious).

Confident working autonomously, managing your own caseload and prioritising effectively.

Comfortable advising both employers and individuals, with a client-facing, commercial mindset.

Self-motivated, organised and able to thrive in a fully remote environment.

If you’re an experienced Employment Solicitor looking for first-rate quality of work, meaningful flexibility and a supportive specialist team, please apply today or get in touch using the details below for a confidential discussion.

Requirements

Qualified solicitor with minimum 8 years’ PQE in employment law, ideally with experience in both private practice and in‑house/ER environments.

Exclusive or near‑exclusive focus on employment law: unfair/constructive dismissal, discrimination, redundancy, TUPE, whistle-blowing, contractual disputes, and settlement agreements for employers and senior employees.

Proven track record handling Employment Tribunal litigation (including multi‑day hearings), drafting pleadings and bundles, and working closely with or as advocate alongside counsel.

Comfortable advising both employers (SMEs, PLCs, public bodies) and senior employees/executives, with a commercial, solutions‑driven approach rather than purely black‑letter advice.

Strong experience drafting and reviewing contracts, policies, handbooks, and HR documentation, plus advising on restructures, TUPE and high‑risk exits.

Demonstrable ability to build and maintain own caseload and client relationships, with willingness to contribute to business development, networking and thought leadership (articles, webinars, training).

Benefits

Annual Bonus raising to £25,000 after 2 years of employment.

Fully remote role with regular virtual contact and occasional team meetings to maintain connection and support.

Genuine flexibility over working hours and days, suited to those seeking a consultancy-style arrangement.

Dedicated support including an assistant, full IT support and provision of equipment (laptop, phone, landline).

High-quality, specialist employment work without onerous targets, within a firm known for excellent client feedback.
