Are you passionate about supporting young learners and helping them thrive in a primary school environment? GSL Education is currently seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Primary Teaching Assistants to work in schools across Sheffield. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in the development and progress of pupils in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
Key Responsibilities of a Primary Teaching Assistant:
* Provide one-to-one and small group support to ensure pupils remain focused and make progress.
* Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons.
* Support pupils with special educational needs (SEN), behavioural challenges, or additional learning needs.
* Help create a positive, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment.
* Encourage pupil participation, confidence, and independence.
* Supervise children during breaks, lunchtimes, and school-based activities.
Requirements for a Primary Teaching Assistant:
* Experience working with primary-aged children (in schools, tutoring, or childcare settings).
* A good understanding of SEN, Autism, ADHD, and behaviour management strategies is desirable.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* A patient, adaptable, and proactive attitude towards supporting learning.
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team or independently when needed.
* An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
