Product Developer
£31,450 to £38,000 plus benefits (Work Level 6B)
Manchester City Centre, hybrid: home, office and supplier sites as required.
We’re looking for a Product Developer to join us and help us deliver Co-op’s amazing own-brand products. In this role, you’ll work on existing and new product development and collaborate with our suppliers and internal teams. You’ll help create and enhance our products, ensuring they taste great, meet customer needs, and uphold the highest quality standards.

What you’ll do
 * Use your food expertise and passion to create clear development briefs, considering commercial implications to maximise value for customers
 * Support tenders from a development perspective
 * Review market and customer data to identify the biggest opportunities
 * Carry out competitor market reviews and store visits across the country, and visit manufacturing sites in the UK
 * Regularly review product quality and conduct taste tests to ensure standards are met
 * Work collaboratively with other functions to ensure products meet expectations
 * Monitor and track products through the critical path up to launch, and communicate key product information and launch activity
 * Build relationships with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure successful product launches
This role will suit people who have
 * A real passion for food with experience in food product or process development, or a degree in a food-related subject
 * Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage projects and work autonomously
 * Customer focus combined with commercial awareness
 * Excellent communication skills and ability to build positive relationships internally and externally
 * A logical approach to problem solving and ability to use data to support decision-making
