Menzies Distribution Solutions are currently looking for an experienced Transport Operator to join our busy team based in Corby. The purpose of this role is to be responsible for managing and executing the Day 1 Plan ensuring all work is distributed whilst complying with Transport Legislation, Health & Safety and customer service requirements. You will ensure that the drivers deliver the customer's products on time and in full using the most cost-effective means possible and best use of available resources and ensuring Transport Planner is aware of any need to manipulate the plan. You will be responsible for Tracking and Tracing all runs live to ensure that once dispatched the drivers arrive at the customer premises within the agreed time windows, and managing any day 1 for 1 issues / delays accordingly. System compliance - Ensuring that all jobs are built, resourced and managed correctly in TMS system, POD Images are clear and correct, and de-brief both manually and through InMotion is accurate and up to date.

Responsibilities
* Liaise with planners to ensure that all relevant deliveries are met within requested delivery windows
* Maintain a close relationship with the Pallet Force Team to confirm driver dispatch at planned times
* Live track and trace of all own fleet vehicles, raise issues through correct channels with corrective actions communicated back to Transport Planner
* Communicate with customers regarding delays or issues with delivery via customer service team or out-of-hours process
* Manage all communications on the Subcontractors Portal for day 1 plan; regularly check online messages to identify 3rd party subbie issues
* Provide feedback on road issues to the Transport Planner with up-to-date ETAs for re-planning
* Monitor compliance on the TMS system and address driver behaviour affecting live information
* Be fully trained and aware of operating processes for driver tracking systems and related software
* Play a key role in revenue capture processes, ensuring returns and re-deliveries are processed correctly and demurrage is charged when appropriate
Key Experience and Qualifications
* Previous knowledge and experience in the transport industry
* Experience working in a busy transport office
* Experience in Transport Operations is required
* Experience in Day 1 for Day 2 preferred
* Knowledge of Drivers Hours, Tachograph and WTD legislation
* Good standard of education
* Strong administration and IT skill set
* Knowledge of Health & Safety
* Hold a full UK driving licence
