A specialist SEN school in Oldham is seeking a passionate and skilled ICT Teacher to join their team this September. This is an exciting opportunity to teach IT/Computing to pupils with a wide range of additional needs, including Autism, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).
The successful candidate will be confident in delivering creative and accessible IT lessons that inspire learners of all abilities, helping pupils develop key digital skills for education, independence and future life opportunities.
Responsibilities
* Planning and delivering engaging ICT/Computing lessons adapted to suit a wide range of abilities
* Using creative strategies, technology and adapted resources to make learning accessible
* Differentiating lessons for pupils with Autism, MLD, SLD and PMLD
* Working closely with teaching assistants, therapists and SEN staff to support individual learning plans
* Encouraging independence, problem-solving and digital literacy skills at an appropriate level for each pupil
* Contributing to the wider school community and enrichment opportunities
What We're Looking For
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) - essential
* Experience teaching ICT/Computing in a school setting (SEN experience desirable)
* A strong understanding of strategies for working with pupils with Autism, SLD and PMLD
* Creativity, patience and adaptability in lesson planning and delivery
* Strong teamwork and communication skills to work with SEN staff and families
* Team Teach trained
