Overview
Brain Injury Support Worker, East Sussex, TN21. Part time and full-time opportunities available for an experienced Brain Injury Support Worker or Rehabilitation Assistant to support a gentleman based in Heathfield, TN21. Up to £19.00 Gross per Hour.
The team provides 2:1 support most days and 1:1 care at night. Jack’s wife plans his weekly routine, which is shared with the team. As Jack’s Brain Injury Support Worker, you will support him at home and in the community, assist his rehabilitation, and enable him to live life as he wishes.
Responsibilities
* Support a client with a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and complex orthopedic injuries, including transfers using a Sara-Steady transfer aid, either with another team member or solo as required.
* Provide care in the home and community settings and support Jack in his roles as husband and father.
* Follow detailed care and rehabilitation plans and adapt activities to the client’s needs and energy levels.
* Work within a 24-hour care team, with shifts including day shifts and sleep-in night shifts, as part of a flexible schedule.
* Coordinate with the client’s family and care team to maintain consistency and high-quality care.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Essential: Brain Injury or neurological experience (stroke or spinal injury), manual handling experience.
* Must be a driver with own car (limited public transport; driving is essential).
* Willingness to work with a BMI client with diabetes and complex medical needs as described in the care plans.
* Experience supporting a client in the community and able to advocate for the client’s needs.

* Wage/Salary: Weekdays £17.00, Weekends £19.00, Bank Holidays £21.00 (gross per hour)
* Driver Essential: Yes, WAV (automatic) for on-duty use
* Start Date: Negotiable
* Days & Hours: Full-time, Part-time and bank shifts available from Monday to Sunday; day shifts 7.45am–8.00pm, sleep-in night shifts 7.45pm–8.00am

He is a full-time wheelchair user and has a Traumatic Brain Injury along with complex orthopedic injuries. He is diabetic and has detailed care plans in place for rehabilitation and medical needs.
