Location: Cramlington, Northumberland.

Salary: up to £57,700 per year (depending on experience).

About the Role

As part of the Integrated Design and Delivery team, the Lead Technician liaises with Capital Project stakeholders, Project Managers and the Engineering department to determine the best technical and Totex solution to resolve an issue. You will plan the procurement and delivery of the solution, supervise contractors and sub‑contractors, commission new assets, and ensure all relevant asset records and documents are updated as per the NWL document requirement list.

You will ensure the contractor site is set up in full compliance with CDM regulations, including producing and sharing the required legal documentation.

You will manage the weekly works programme, ensuring that both the business and the installation service provider have visibility of forward activity levels. You will manage internal and external resources so that adequate materials, equipment and plant are available to deliver projects and schemes.

About You

Proven track record in supervising contractors and construction activities, including civil and MEICA activities.

Comprehensive knowledge of CDM and the required documentation, with a proven track record in managing health, safety and wellbeing, including reviewing contractor risk assessments and giving instruction to colleagues and contractors.

Ability to provide practical input into designs produced by colleagues or supply chain framework partners, and to assess contractor documentation to identify risks, implement control measures and communicate clearly to others.

Excellent communication skills, able to engage with multiple stakeholders, customers and colleagues, and to motivate and support the team.

Full UK driving licence, CITB SMSTS, Temporary Works Coordinator, NEBOSH Construction Certificate, First Aid training and National Water Hygiene accreditation.

DBS checking will be required prior to employment.
