Aberdare Community School is seeking to appoint a passionate, committed and reflective Literacy Teaching Assistant (Grade 6) to join our inclusive and ambitious staff team.
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is dedicated to improving learners’ literacy skills and supporting them to access the curriculum successfully. The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering targeted literacy interventions, working with individuals and small groups to develop reading, writing and communication skills that underpin success across all areas of learning and life.

The Role
You will:
•Deliver targeted literacy interventions for individuals and small groups
•Support learners in developing reading, writing and communication skills
•Work collaboratively with teachers to support learning and adapt provision
•Promote inclusion by supporting pupils with a range of additional needs
•Monitor and record pupil progress, providing clear feedback to staff
•Foster positive relationships that support engagement, confidence and resilience
•Contribute positively to the wider life and ethos of the school
About You

•Passionate about supporting young people to develop essential literacy skills
•Committed to inclusion, high expectations and making a difference
•Calm, patient and able to build positive, supportive relationships with learners
•A strong team player with effective communication and organisational skills
•Reflective and keen to develop professionally
•Experience of working with young people is essential.
