Spend your summer working part-time, as a STEM Tutor in Northampton, Cambridge or London.
What does it involve?
Each summer, Stafford House Study Holidays welcome international, young students from all over the world to learn English as part of a fun and educational study holiday. This course focuses its lessons and excursions on STEM based topics.
It provides you with an opportunity to teach small class sizes (around 15-students) in a multi-cultural environment. You'll have fun delivering lectures, workshops and science-based English lessons, covering subjects such as a physics masterclass and will also feature guest lecturers. Potential Workshops include topics such as Build a Volcano, The Thermite Reaction and Cauliflower Cloning, Lego Robotics, Coding a "Raspberry Pi" etc. Students will also take part in practical lab-work demonstrations to put the theory into practice. English lessons will develop each of the four skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing as well as knowledge of scientific vocabulary and grammar necessary to present their final projects in appropriate English.
Students will visit destinations may include the Science Museum, National Space Centre or Bletchley Park - depending on location.
Our young overseas students (aged 12-17) will have an English proficiency of upper intermediate. Therefore you do not need to be an EFL teacher for this contract but it is beneficial.
