Business Development Manager role at SG Fleet AU.
About the role
As a Business Development Manager you will be responsible for securing profitable new business opportunities across the UK, building and maintaining a pipeline of prospects, and ultimately achieving business growth targets. You will also be involved in onboarding new clients and working closely with key stakeholders to ensure successful implementation.
This highly autonomous role is supported by a management team that truly understands sales. While support is provided, the position requires a BDM who is proficient and motivated at every stage of the sales process.
Your responsibilities
* Develop a prospect strategy for the assigned area, resulting in a collaborative approach for contacting and contracting prospects.
* Drive profitable new business with an individual sales target for SG Fleet in the UK.
* Contact prospects, prepare proposals for agreements, and lead negotiations.
* Deliver strategic sales plans bi‑annually, noting the approach to implement the plan.
* Maintain an agreed targeted prospect list in Dynamics/CRM, ensuring all active opportunities have up‑to‑date sales stages for accurate reporting.
* Deliver a timely onboarding process for all new clients, including handover to the relevant Relationship team.
* Help develop third‑party relationships with lenders.
* Prepare and present clear and concise deal pricing strategies as required, seeking relevant sign‑off.
Experience and skills
* Current full driver’s licence.
* Proven business development and networking skills.
* Demonstrated experience of exceeding individual targets or KPIs.
* Previous experience in a sales or account management role.
* Ability to present confidently and professionally in a variety of settings.
* Excellent verbal and written communication, with strong listening and probing skills.
* Ability to understand customer needs and adapt product/service offerings to attract and retain customers.
* Tertiary qualification in Business Management or related discipline (desirable).
* Public Sector experience (desirable but not essential).
* LCV experience (desirable but not essential).
