One of my local government clients is seeking a Senior Enforcement Officer to play a key role in maintaining the integrity of planning control and compliance across the borough. Key Responsibilities: * Investigate reported breaches of planning control including changes of use, gypsy incursions, protected trees, listed buildings, and advertising regulations. * Monitor compliance with planning obligations, agreements, and conditions. * Prepare detailed written evidence for enforcement appeals, public inquiries, and court hearings. * Represent the council at informal hearings and provide expert evidence as required. * Liaise professionally with legal representatives, agents, complainants, councillors, and landowners. * Collect and prepare evidence for potential prosecutions in accordance with relevant legislation. Requirements: * Proven experience in planning enforcement within a local authority or similar setting. * Strong knowledge of planning law, enforcement processes, and legal procedures. * Excellent communication and report-writing skills. * Ability to work independently and manage a complex caseload effectively.
