Job Description
An well performing special school is seeking an experienced Interim Deputy Headteacher to support the Headteacher with operational leadership.
This is a hands-on senior leadership role within a complex behavioural environment. The school supports pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, alongside additional SEND profiles. A visible, confident and relational leadership style is essential.
The Role
* Hands on leadership role
* Oversight of assessment and data
* Daily staffing and operational coordination
* Line management of pastoral and teaching staff
* Behaviour and culture leadership
* Supporting a trauma-informed approach
* Working closely with the Headteacher to maintain stability and standards
The Ideal Candidate
* Experienced Deputy Headteacher, Headteacher or senior leader within SEMH, alternative provision or specialist settings
* Strong background in behaviour leadership and safeguarding
* Confident operating in high-challenge environments
* Experience overseeing assessment, data and school improvement
* Able to integrate quickly and provide stability during a transitional period
