We are pleased to be recruiting a Senior Software Engineer for a well established and market leading supplier of equipment to the Medical sector. This role offers the chance to join a strong team with the opportunity to progress and develop.
Key Responsibilities
* Architecting and leading the development of high-quality, medium-large scale control software applications in LabVIEW for the integration into electromechanical ultrasonic measurement and test systems.
* Providing mentorship to members of the Software & Systems team to enhance their proficiency in advanced LabVIEW skills.
* Capturing and refining complex software requirements for client facing projects (e.g. UMS, UMSI).
* Providing technical product support to Precision Acoustics’ diverse global clientele in ultrasound, which encompasses academic institutions, medical device manufacturers, aerospace and defence firms, and non-destructive testing (NDT) applications.
* Collaborating with internal departments such as Sensors to design and implement software components for both new and existing advanced in-house systems, aimed at enhancing manufacturing efficiency and quality control. This involves troubleshooting and resolving existing technical issues, as well as innovating new features.
* Writing, technical software documentation (e.g. user guides, design documents).
* Keeping up to date with the latest developments in relevant technologies and methodologies.
* 3+ years of experience designing medium-large scale applications involving hardware integration in LabVIEW.
* 1+ years of experience working within a scrum framework as part of an agile implementation.
* 1+ years of experience working with source code control, specifically Git.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Motivated learner.
Desirable Experience and Qualities
* Working knowledge of ultrasound.
* Experience working with motion control systems.
* Experience working with National Instruments (NI) hardware.
* Working within a leadership capacity.
* Working within a quality management system and to health & safety standards.
Salary – £45-55K per annum
Working Hours
Monday to Friday 8.30am-5pm
Early finish on Fridays
25 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays
