Main duties of the job
As a General Practice Nurse, you will:
* Deliver comprehensive nursing care in a primary care setting, with a focus on long-term condition management, especially respiratory care (e.g., asthma, COPD).
* Conduct patient assessments, develop care plans, and provide evidence-based interventions.
* Support health promotion, disease prevention, and patient education initiatives.
* Collaborate with GPs, healthcare assistants, and other professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
* Contribute to practice development and quality improvement initiatives.
About us
St Clements Surgery is located in the centre of Winchester and provides primary care to over 16,000 patients. Our team comprises 15 GPs, 2 Nurse practitioners, 1 Paramedic, 4 Practice nurses, 2 HCAs, and a large reception and admin team. We are also a GP training practice with GP Registrars and Medical Students on secondment.

Job Summary
To be responsible for the delivery of practice nursing services, working as part of the multidisciplinary team to provide care within the scope of practice to the patient population. The practice nurse will handle clinical areas such as health promotion, chronic disease management, and support the review of clinical policies and procedures.
Job Responsibilities
* Assist in and perform routine patient care tasks as directed by the lead nurse and GPs, including wound care, sutures removal, patient medicals, urinalysis, ECGs, peak flow readings, venepuncture, blood pressure measurements, and immunisations.
* Support administrative duties such as maintaining equipment, stock management, record keeping, and participating in practice meetings.
* Occasionally undertake home or nursing home visits.

Qualifications
* Registered Nurse (RN) with NMC registration.
* Experience in primary care or relevant clinical settings.
