Worcester City Council is looking for an experienced graphic designer with passion and a creative flair to support a wider team making a difference to the lives of others. Do you create innovative designs under pressure, are you well‑organised, and can you work to tight deadlines?
This is a unique opportunity to work for an ambitious and well‑respected council. The role is part time, working 20 hours per week on a fixed‑term contract until 31 March 2028. The position is based in the heart of Worcester, with flexibility to work from home.
As part of the communications team, you will design posters, leaflets, banners, social media assets, animations, and video graphics and effects to promote and support the council’s priorities. Your work will support a wide range of projects, from helping residents reduce waste and recycle to branding new investments and promoting events.
Key Requirements
* Relevant degree or other qualification in graphic design
* Substantial experience professionally using Adobe Creative Suite or an equivalent graphic design system
Skills and Experience
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* Working knowledge of local government and the context in which it operates
* Ability to balance competing demands and ensure deadlines are met
* Working understanding of social media
* Experience using animation software such as Adobe After Effects is desirable
* Basic video editing skills, including captioning
